KenGriffeySrSanAntonio

Three-time baseball All-Star, prostate cancer survivor and Men Who Speak Up spokesman Ken Griffey Sr. will be in attendance at this year’s race in San Antonio to share his personal survival story.

“I’ve lost four uncles to prostate cancer. It was a common topic in our home,” Said Griffey Sr.  “Despite how much we’d talked about prostate cancer… when it came to my diagnosis, I was surprised by how hard it became for me to speak up.”

Ken will be introduced by former San Antonio mayor and County Judge, the honorable Nelson Wolff.  Judge Wolff wrote Baseball for Real Men,  in which he reflects on life, baseball and his love of the game.  The Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, home field of the San Antonio Missions is also named in his honor.
