Urology San Antonio is excited to introduce you to our newest provider – Dr. Susan Talamini. She is an endourologist specializing in complex kidney stone disease and BPH treatment using advanced techniques like Rezum.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Talamini’s life journey took her across the United States, from the East to the West Coast, and in between. Her travels led her to the vibrant city of San Antonio, where she found the perfect blend of a great climate, rich culture, and an ideal environment to raise a family.
Dr. Talamini had a unique path to medicine. Before becoming a urologist, she pursued a different passion – classical music. However, she ultimately decided on another career where she could use her skills to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. “I love what I do now, and being able to work with my hands in the operating room to help people is a privilege and immensely rewarding.“
Her non-traditional journey to medicine gives Dr. Talamini a different perspective and helps her truly understand patient-centered care. She believes in considering each patient’s individual needs and preferences when developing a treatment plan. It’s part of why she chose urology in particular. “We see men and women, and address some of the most private and stigmatized conditions affecting our patients’ lives. I love being able to address patients’ concerns using the advanced minimally invasive techniques that are unique to our field.”
Dr. Talamini is proud to offer her expertise in both English and Spanish. As a bilingual healthcare provider, she ensures effective communication with a diverse range of patients so that everyone receives the personalized care they deserve.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Talamini enjoys skiing, playing the viola, gardening, and spending quality time outdoors with her husband and two young children.
