Five New Physicians Join Urology San Antonio

Urology San Antonio is proud to welcome five new physicians; bringing the total number of urologists to 30, including six female urologists.

The new group of doctors brings with them exceptional skills that will compliment the group’s already exceptional level of patient care. Their addition will open up new appointment opportunities, decreased wait times, and new procedures.

“This is a well-trained group of urologists with a diverse skill-set that will strengthen our position as the premier urology group in South Texas,” said Dr. Clayton Hudnall, president of the Urology San Antonio board of directors.

All five physicians are accepting new patients.

Jose De La Cerda, MD – A San Antonio native, Dr. De La Cerda joins Urology San Antonio’s Mission Trail office following his Department of Urology Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. De La Cerda’s research topics have been introspective looks into urologic care.

 

 Judy Farias, MDA Texan native, Dr. Farias returns to her home state following her Northeast Methodist office following her Department of Urology Residency at the University of Little Rock Medical Sciences Center. Dr. Farias has achieved several academic honors, including the Bernhard T. Mittenmeyer, MD Presidential Endowment, and Bill Gates Millenium Scholar. She treats men’s and women’s urologic health concerns, with clinical specializations in incontinence, urologic cancers, kidney stones, and robotic surgery.

John Lavin, MD – Dr. Lavin joins the Urology San Antonio Medical Center location after his Urology Residency at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Lavin has been published in urology journals, as well as invited to speak at several conferences. He also completed a urologic medical mission trip to Zambia.

 

Douglas Russell, DO – Dr. Russell returns to San Antonio following his Department of Urology Residency at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. He’ll be based in the Mission Trail office. Dr. Russell’s clinical specializations include BPH, Erectile Dysfunction, Kidney Cancer, Kidney Stones, Prostate Cancer, and Robotic Surgery.

Daniel Zainfeld, MD – As the group’s first Urologic Oncologist, Dr. Zainfeld joins the Medical Center location after a Urologic Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California. Dr. Zainfeld is a Texan native, who has had been published in several urology journals. His passion is helping patients navigate through urologic cancers to create long-term relationships.
