Matthew Taon, MD

Dr. Matthew Czar Taon is a board-certified interventional radiologist and U.S. Air Force veteran with expertise in minimally invasive vascular procedures like prostate artery embolization (PAE) for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He honed this expertise as a Major in the Medical Corps from 2021-2026 at Brooke Army Medical Center, the DoD/DoW’s largest Level I trauma center, where he led high-stakes trauma interventions, vascular imaging, and patient-centered care. He earned his MD from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and completed his Interventional Radiology Fellowship at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, specializing in advanced imaging-guided techniques to minimize risks and improve recovery for conditions like vascular disease and oncology.

Dr. Taon is an innovator with peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, multiple provisional patents, is the recipient of the Julio Palmaz Research Grant for the development of a magnetoactive stent, and has made multiple contributions to radiology texts. As a physician with Urology San Antonio, he is committed to providing precise, compassionate PAE for men seeking urinary relief through cutting-edge technology and collaboration.
